Much research has been done on the benefits of homeopathy and homeopathy's impact on people's lives and health. I have selected a sample of this homeopathic research, providing insights into how homeopathy works and how homeopathy compares to alternative methods of healing.
PLACEBO?
Despite the findings of statistically significant positive results in well-controlled studies, some critics of homeopathic medicine assert that positive findings are due to a placebo effect. The following study demonstrates that effects of homeopathic medicines differ from the effects of placebos.
ASTHMA
Researchers at the University of Glasgow in the UK, have found that 80% patients who received very small, “homeopathic”, doses of whatever substance they were most allergic to had significant relief of symptoms within the first week of treatment, compared to 38% of patients who received placebo.
THE SCIENCE
Homeopathy is used by tens of thousands of physicians and over 500 million people worldwide, making it one of the most popular forms of integrated medicine. High quality surveys of use of homeopathy have been conducted in 11 countries. This article reviews this research into the efficacy of homeopathy.
